At Vexia, we manufacture swimwear and athleisure under a full package manufacturing model from Medellín, Colombia. This is the story of how we became a manufacturing partner for U.S. brands, and where we are headed next.

2019: Our First Export to the United States

In 2019, we shipped our first production order to the United States for our first client in that market. It was a turning point: exporting required us to work to each brand’s technical specifications, approve samples before bulk production, meet committed lead times, and deliver consistent quality on every style.

Since then, we have built a full package process in which we handle everything: design, sample development, fabric and trims sourcing, fabric cutting, cut & sew, quality control, and packaging. The brand defines its requirements, and we deliver finished product ready for its warehouse or stores.

From One Brand to Nine: Growing with U.S. Brands

Since that first shipment, we have grown steadily. Today we work with 9 brands, mainly based in the United States, and more than 90% of our production is exported to the U.S.

We operate as an Industrial User of Goods in the Rionegro Free Trade Zone, with a production capacity of up to 35,000 units per month and a 0% export tariff to the U.S. under the U.S.–Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (CTPA).

What’s Next: the United States, Colombia, and Chile

We continue to focus our growth primarily on the United States, our core market. At the same time, we are expanding our presence in Colombia and opening new opportunities in Chile to support more swimwear and athleisure brands across the region.

Our purpose remains the same: to grow alongside our people, our clients, and our suppliers through formality, transparency, and well-being. We believe that when we build relationships this way, growth is a result, not a goal.
